South African Military Academy The South African Military Academy prepares candidate officers and midshipmen of all Arms of Service morally, mentally and physically to be professional officers in the SANDF. This web site gives the background and activities of the Academy.
South African Centre for Military Studies (CEMIS) CEMIS is a research facility attached to the University of Stellenbosch and the South African Military Academy at Saldhana. They describe their roles to be : Analysing security, and factors and trends influencing it. Exchanging information on security trends with other national and international research bodies and, where possible, the undertaking of joint projects. Giving guidance to Defence Force members and civilians who research security trends. Dissemination of research results to the security community and civilian target groups, by means of presentations, publications and conferences.
