- Skin-Cap - Advanced Alternatives Center This Florida promoter will order Skin-Cap for you, to be shipped direct from Cheminova in Spain. Shipments are impounded by US customs when detected, because the product has been widely banned for containing drugs not listed on the label.
- Roche Laboratories - Soriatane Soriatane is a prescription oral retinoid (acitretin) for the treatment of psoriasis. This site offers details on the medication, and a patient registration database. A Shockwave enabled browser is required to view the content.
- Skin-Cap FAQ Skin-Cap was banned in 1997 for containing unlisted superpotent corticosteroids at prescription levels. Many zinc "clone" products have now appeared. Steroids are a standard treatment and can be effective for a quick fix, but problems with long term use include severe rebound when the treatment is stopped.
- Ken Kessler - Using Topical Nystatin The actual method of treatment is not mentioned at the site, only clues about yeast. - Blue Lagoon Psoriasis Clinic This unique public spa is located near Reykjavik, Iceland. A new clinic and conference center opened in July 1999. Indoor pools and steam caves now offer a quiet refuge from the nearby geothermal power plant. The site also carries a line of skin care products.
- Skintreat This site promotes BlueCap, from the makers of the banned product Skin-Cap. Steroids were recently found in Blue-Cap, and it has also been banned from import and sales in the USA. See the Skin-Cap FAQ for more info.
- Prime Pharmaceuticals Corporation - Primaderm Primapharm is selling topical mahonia aquifolium (oregon grape) extract as a psoriasis treatment. The marketing has generated some controversy. Search the newsgroup archives for more details and discussion.
- Krishnamoorthy's Siddha Research & Pharmaceuticals Pvt. Ltd The ingredients are unlisted, but apparently the product of soaking herbs in vegetable oil. None of the studies listed at the site could be found in peer-reviewed journals.
- Gerovital GH3 Promoted as a rejuvenating cure-all, these products contain Novacaine, a local anesthetic. Gerovital products have been banned in the US since 1982 after being deemed a postal fraud in 1981. Search on "Gerovital" at the US FDA or Government health sites for details and warnings.
- Skin Solutions - Australia This mail order site has a line of herbal skin creams aimed at treating most every common skin condition. They also offer incentives to home distributors seeking extra imcome.
- Cozy International - Dead Sea Bath Salts The major benefit of Dead Sea spa treatments for psoriasis comes from the sun exposure, but adding salt to a bath can be beneficial. A typical bath would need about 70 pounds of salt to match the salinity of the Dead Sea.
- Dead Sea Cosmetics 4U This site sells Dead Sea minerals and mud for cosmetic use. Mineral treatment for a variety of medical conditions is proposed, based on published benefits of phototherapy.
- Psoriasis-Hope Soap Weedwoman makes available an herbal tea, cream, soap and bath additive that she has found helpful for her own skin. Hand crafted erotic adult soaps and edible body powders liven up the bath regime.
- Unique Image Worldwide This company markets Skin-Cap, a product banned by the FDA in 1997 after discovery of superpotent steroid ingredients not listed on the label. Black market shipments of products from Cheminova in Spain are subject to impounding by US Customs. See the Skin-Cap FAQ.
- Psoriasis Remedy in Leeds The creator of this UK site offers a private blend of natural oils and unidentified "substances". Supposedly based on aromatherapy but "leaves no smells". Despite claims at the site, there is no acknowledged cure for psoriasis.
- Relief On A Shoestring Budget - Bruce McDonald This psoriasis sufferer in Brisbane, Australia offers an e-book describing his relief for dry skin, plus a mysterious "formulation of natural oils" by mail-order.
- PhotoTherapeutiX - Ultraviolet Phototherapy Systems Phototherapeutix makes UVA and UVB lamp systems for treating psoriasis and vitiligo at home, with light booths that fold flat when not in use. A prescription is needed for purchasing these medical devices.
- Skin-Cap - Cheminova Internacional Beware of undisclosed steroids in Skin-Cap products. This manufacturer in Madrid, Spain ships the drugs directly to customers despite a 1997 product ban and personal injury lawsuits against its distributors. Cheminova claims that there are no unlisted ingredients or side effects, while lab tests worldwide show the contents are frequently changed to avoid detection. See the Skin-Cap FAQ for details.
- Lupicare Skin Care Products These widely advertised herbal products are back on the market with salicylic acid added as an active ingredient, which allows various OTC drug claims for treating psoriasis.
- PsoriaLess.com and Psoriasis-Cure.com The sites selling these french products have many claims and supporting information about psoriasis and eczema, but some of it can be misleading. (The tryptophan diet was debunked three decades ago). Some pages are not readable in standard browsers.
- Neutrogena T/Gel Shampoo products Neutrogena makes a line of coal tar, salicylic acid, and hyrocortisone shampoo products for nonprescription treatment of scalp flaking and itching.
- Dermarest Psoriasis The skin and scalp psoriasis treatments in the Del Laboratories Dermarest product line use salicylic acid as the active ingredient.
- Insitu-Psor by Insitumed This is an OTC lotion based on salicylic acid for the treatment of hyperprolferative skin conditions like psoriasis. Insitumed claims it is also useful for herpes, shingles, and cold sores.
- Pure Essence - Psoriasis Oil and Gel The "Naturally Pure" mail-order product from New Zealand is a combination of topical oils and herbal extracts.
- Tierrasana - Mud There are psoriasis climatotherapy spas in the Canary islands. This site promotes local volcanic earth mixed with powdered aloe for mixing at home into a mud treatment. See Dave's Psoriasis Info for a review of a similar product.
- Amjo Corp - Phototherapy Lamps Amjo sells full spectrum ultraviolet, UVB, and UVA lamps for tanning and skin treatment. Phototherapy lamps require a doctor's prescription in the USA. - Yoni International - Dead Sea Products and Travel Yoni carries Dead Sea bath salts and cosmetic products. They also host VIP Travel with health holiday packages specific to psoriasis, eczema, asthma, arthritis and rheumatism.
- Daavlin Company - Phototherapy Equipment Daavlin manufactures UVA, Broad UVB and Narrow Band UVB equipment for the home and the professional office. These medical devices are widely used for the treatment of psoriasis. A doctor's prescription is required for purchase.
- Adams Tarleine Skin Care Ointment This product of pine tar and zinc oxide was trademarked in 1957 for treating psoriasis and eczema.
- Dermac Labs - Mink Oil skin care products A money back guarantee is offered, but psoriasis treatment claims require FDA approval.
- Psoriasis Hall of Pshame Scams and misleading promotions. A critique of various psoriasis treatments advertised on the net.
- La Roche Posay Thermal Spa This site is presented by a society of treatment spa hotels in the town of La Roche-Posay, France. Mineral water bath and phototherapy treatments are available for various skin conditions, including psoriasis.
- Rick Yeager's Psoriatic Arthritis Treatment Info and testimonials about using prescription nystatin as an alternative treatment for psoriasis. (Search the newsgroup archives for responses to his controversial and inaccurate claims.)
- Skin-Tech - Cleariasis Skintech 2000 in Alabama sells mail-order "natural" treatments for psoriasis based on coal tar as the active ingredient.
- Clay from Acticells Dubious "facts" are presented at this site. Claims of a cure or permanent relief from psoriasis need to be substantiated. No other members of a "Psoriasis Online Association" could be found.
- Total Control Skydivers - Psoriasis Treatment Wand This Australian skydiving operator offers to lease or sell a small UVB wand suitable for localized use, along with his personal treatment tips.
- Buy Books on Psoriasis and Support the NPF This volunteer-run site has a large list of psoriasis books and links to multiple booksellers. All referral fees go directly as donations to the National Psoriasis Foundation. Any purchases of other products via search links on this page will help, too.
- Ageless Herbal Products Miracle wound healing and skin cures are some of the claims to be found at this South African site. The US FDA does not approve herbal remedies as stated at the site. Any products which make disease treatment claims become FDA classified as drugs, requiring full safety testing and registration to be legally marketed.
- Dermazinc distributor - Sanavita This former Skin-Cap distributor now makes the same claims for Zinc Pyrithione. ZnP was removed from the FDA list of approved psoriasis treatments in 1991. Dermazinc is an attempt to clone the banned Skin-Cap by adding prescription steroids. See the Skin-Cap FAQ.
- Pharmakwik Pharmakwik sells only Skin-Cap, a product banned from import by the FDA in 1997 after tests found undisclosed steroids. Skin-Cap was reintroduced in Canada in 2000 and banned again after it was found that the drug had been altered to evade detection. See the Skin-Cap FAQ.
