- Some Notes on the Special needs of Young Transsexual People, especially Teenagers The very worst time of all is puberty, as at this age you haven't developed the life skills that help the older TS - even those in their 20's, to achieve transition, with all the trauma that comes before, during and after. At this age you're still stuck in school, with a load of twazzocks (idiots, etc.!) who know you're different and remind you of it every minute of the day.
